In the lead up to Invest NI's trade mission to Australia,  Kate Gilmore, Mission Manager, Invest NI provides background to the growing business relationship between Australia and Northern Ireland.

"As the economic development agency for Northern Ireland, Invest NI assists the region’s companies to develop global sales and helps businesses in overseas markets to access quality products and services from Northern Ireland suppliers.

I am delighted to be leading Invest NI’s trade mission to Australia and I am confident that Northern Ireland is represented here by a group of exciting and innovative companies, who have much to offer the Australian market.

Many participants on this trade mission are already conducting business in Australia, whilst others are making their first visit to the market. Regardless of their size or sector, they all possess a wealth of experience and expertise which will bring value to their business relationships with Australian partners.

Asia Pacific is rapidly developing as an important strategic market for Invest NI. We have had a presence for some time in China, with trade and investment offices in Shanghai and Beijing. Recently we expanded our team, supplementing it with the appointment of trade consultants in Australia and South East Asia, demonstrating our commitment to the region.
