Overview

Two Successful Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) Multi-Sector Trade Missions to Australia Conducted in November 2018 & 2019

One of F&A's key clients, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), requested our assistance with the organisation and scheduling of pre-qualified meetings for Wisconsin companies interested in participating in a trade mission to Australia.

As part of the multi-year (November 2018 & 2019), multi-sector trade mission program, a total of ten Wisconsin companies visited Australia (Sydney & Melbourne), with one of these companies participating in both years.

For both Trade Missions (2018 & 2019), F&A successfully delivered the following services:

  • Recruitment Roadshow in Wisconsin;
  • Welcome Reception in Australia;
  • In-Country Briefing;
  • Tailored Market Assessments;
  • Tailored B2B Meeting Schedules;
  • Ongoing Support and Trade Advisory Services; and
  • Assistance with Coordination of Logistics and Group Events.
 

Outcomes and Results

Our office scheduled over 90 B2B meetings on behalf of the participating companies, interacting with close to 200 local businesses and government agencies in the process.

Approximately two months following the November 2019 trade mission, 100% of participants anticipated future export sales as a direct result of their involvement.

Upon their return to Wisconsin, our office received the following thank you note from Brad Schneider, Market Development Director - Americas and Australia, at WEDC:

"To the entire Foley team, 

I have returned to the grey, dreary and cold weather that is Wisconsin this time of year, however bring back with me the warmth and hospitality that each of you showed to me and the entire delegation of Wisconsin companies that joined us in Australia last week. I truly appreciate all of the hard work and effort that each of you provided in order to make the trip as successful as possible. I know from speaking with each of the participants that they were very pleased and impressed with the calibre of meetings that you were able to secure for them.
