Susie Christensen – International Trade & Marketing Consultant

Susie Christensen joined the Sydney office of Foley & Associates in 2007 and is originally from Minnesota, U.S.A.  She is employed as an International Trade Specialist with a specific focus on assisting American exporters to enter the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Since joining Foley & Associates Pty Ltd, Susie has assisted U.S. organizations across a broad range of industry sectors to not only find partners in Australia and New Zealand but also to gain a better understanding of local business practices and opportunities.

She completes distributor searches, competitor and pricing analysis and attends industry exhibitions and local industry events so that she can best brief her American client base about opportunities in the region. Susie also advises her clients on the impact of the US – Australian free trade agreement; customs and quarantine issues in Australia and New Zealand; and completes background checks and due diligence on organizations in this region who have expressed an interest in partnering with American suppliers. She also encourages and facilitates in-bound buyer visits to the U.S.

Susie started her career with McCracken Brooks Maier, a marketing communications firm, in Minnesota and also obtained international experience with another Minnesota company, Global Outreach, which stimulated her appetite to work in the international business development field. Along with working at Foley & Associates Pty Ltd in Sydney, Susie has also lived and worked in South Australia with Bibber International, a professional service firm in Adelaide.

Through her employment with Foley & Associates Pty Ltd, Susie is a member of local industry networking groups such as the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia; AusBiotech, the national biotechnology organization; the Australian Industry Defense Network and the Western Sydney IT cluster.  She is an accomplished public speaker and has particular strengths in networking and identifying business opportunities for her client base.

Susie is a graduate of St. Olaf College in Minnesota. She has lived in Australia on different occasions since 1998 and in 2007 received her Master of International Business degree from Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia. In her spare time, Susie volunteers as a Surf Lifesaver at the world famous Bondi Beach.
